Court finds no genocide in Krajisnik case

The UN war crimes tribunal in the Netherlands today found insufficient evidence of genocide in the ethnic cleansing and atrocities against Bosnian Muslims in the case against the former speaker of the Bosnian Serb parliament.

The tribunal, at The Hague, said the prosecution had not proved genocidal intent, and acquitted Momcilio Krajisnik of the most serious charge against him.

But the court found Krajisnik guilty of several of the other seven charges against him.
