US soldier killed by roadside bomb in Iraq

A US soldier with the Multi-National Division-Baghdad has been killed by a roadside bomb, the American military reported today.

The soldier was performing a dismounted patrol north-west of Baghdad when the explosion occurred yesterday evening, officials said in a statement.

Authorities are not releasing the name of the deceased until they contact the soldier’s next of kin.
