US soldier killed in combat south of Baghdad

A US Army soldier was killed in fighting during a raid south of Baghdad to capture “foreign terrorists”, the US military said in Iraq today.

The soldier was killed yesterday “when his unit came in contact with enemy forces”, said a statement by the US military command.
