Kittens 'fried' with pork chops horror
Five kittens are recovering at a US animal shelter after being thrown into a pan of frying pork chops.
The six to seven-week-old animals were scalded when they were dropped in with the sizzling meat and oil and “swished around“, the Buffalo News reported.
The man alleged to have been responsible is expected to be charged with animal cruelty, police said.
He had been visiting an acquaintance in Buffalo, New York State, who left the room while cooking a couple of chops for him.
“The [visitor] started taking his clothes off, took two kittens, put them in the frying pan with the hot oil and pork chops and began swishing them around,” animal control officer Charles Loubert told the newspaper.
“Then he threw one kitten on the floor, and he took the other one and wiped it off on the wall. Then he put three more kittens into the frying pan.”
He added: “It’s just disgusting – just horrible.”
The pets were said to have suffered slightly burned skin, which had turned red, while their orange and white fur had became matted and greasy.
Police took the man for medical treatment.
The kittens, who are expected to make a full recovery, were taken to a nearby shelter where they were washed with soap and dried.
“They’re doing well,” Mr Loubert said.
“These kittens went through a huge ordeal.”
