Olmert: Ceasefire not in Israel's interest

Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert today said it was not in Israel’s interest to agree to an immediate ceasefire in its battle with Hezbollah guerrillas in southern Lebanon.

“Every extra day is one that drains the strength of the enemy,” he said. “Every day that passes is one in which the (army) reduces their ability to fight us.”
