Al-Sadr condemns Maliki's visit to US

Followers of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr today condemned the visit of Prime Minister Nouri Maliki to the United States because it could lead to a continued US presence in Iraq.

“We want him to cut his visit and not to sign any paper leading to occupation forces remaining in Iraq,” the statement by the al-Sadr movement said.
