Baghdad minibus blast kills 33
A suicide car bomber in a minibus killed at least 33 people and wounded dozens more today at the entrance of a Baghdad market, police said.
The attack happened in the heavily Shiite district of Sadr City as residents arrived to shop, a police spokesman said.
Police were still counting the causalities, but estimated at least 72 people were wounded.
Hours earlier in the same area, US and Iraqi army units raided a series of homes, killing at least one civilian and arresting seven others, police said.
Earlier this month, another car bombing in the same district killed 66 people.
