The UN children’s and health agencies today said they were seriously concerned about civilian casualties and new health risks because of escalating violence in Lebanon and Israel.

Unicef and the World Health Organisation said in a Geneva statement that there was a serious psychological effect from the fighting, which has killed more than 200 people and injured some 550 in Lebanon.
