At least 15 people were killed when a bus was in collision with a truck in central Kazakhstan early today.

Thirteen more people were injured when the bus, carrying 25 people including the driver, and a truck carrying a driver and two passengers, collided on a road connecting the capital Astana with the commercial capital Almaty, said emergencies agency spokeswoman Natalia Kim.

Kim said the truck caught fire after the collision in the Shetskiy district, 125 miles south of Astana.

Both vehicles’ drivers, 12 bus passengers and one truck passenger died in the accident, she said.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
