International charities launch code of conduct for NGOs

A number of leading charities have launched a groundbreaking code of conduct for Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).

Oxfam, Amnesty, and Greenpeace are among 11 charities that have launched the Accountability Charter.

The document sets out new standards for openness and ethical behaviour in reporting, fundraising and campaigning for charities.

The founding charities are now calling on other NGOs to sign up to the charter.
