John Allen Muhammad was today sentenced to six consecutive life sentences for the October 2002 killings of six people during a sniper shooting spree that terrorised the Washington, DC region.

“You, Mr Muhammad, have no hope. You have no future. You will spend every day for the rest of your life locked in a cage,” said Montgomery County Circuit Judge James Ryan in Rockville, Maryland.
