Annan urges Iran to clarify nuclear aims

UN chief Kofi Annan today urged Iran to clarify whether it is trying to develop nuclear weapons, and appealed for a negotiated solution to the dispute.

“What is important is that both sides – the Europeans who have been negotiating with Iran, and Iran – have indicated that they are prepared to continue negotiations,” Annan said on a visit to Vietnam.
