American deer hunter dies in New Zealand fall
An American man on a deer-hunting expedition died after he fell almost 1,000 feet down a rocky slope on New Zealand’s Southern Alps.
Clifford Wayne Senter, 57, of New Hampshire, had just been set down by a helicopter on a ridge in the Mount Aspiring National Park on the South Island yesterday when he lost his footing and fell, said Sgt. Aaron Nicholson of the Wanaka Search and Rescue organisation.
