An American man on a deer-hunting expedition died after he fell almost 1,000 feet down a rocky slope on New Zealand’s Southern Alps.

Searchers recovered the body today of an Irish hiker who died in New Zealand after falling 800 feet into a rocky ravine a week earlier, officials said.
