28 feared dead as Lake Victoria ferry capsizes

A ferry carrying passengers and cargo on Lake Victoria has capsized and 28 people are missing and feared dead, Tanzanian police said today.

The MV Nyamanga was heading from Bukoba to Mwanza on the southern shores of the lake when it sank late last night, police spokesman Juma Mtumwa said.
