Nepal's insurgents reject king's call for parliament

Nepal’s communist insurgents today rejected King Gyanendra’s order for a reinstatement of Parliament, calling it a conspiracy to defend the monarchy and warning their opposition allies not to accept it.

The Kathmandu announcement came hours after Nepal’s seven-party opposition alliance had welcomed the king’s speech.
