Up to 100 hurt in Egypt blast horror

British tourists were among those caught up in three explosions in Egypt tonight.

Up to 100 people are thought to have been killed or wounded in the blasts, which rocked the holiday resort of Dahab on the Sinai peninsular, according to local doctors.

British tourist Paul McBeath said he heard the explosions at around 7.15pm local time (6.15pm Irish time)

Mr McBeath told Sky News there had been “no warning whatsoever”.

“There were just three loud bangs and people rushing around. Everybody is shaken.”

He said the el-Masbat area of the city where the explosions took place was popular with holidaymakers.
