Incoming Palestinian PM says govt will not submit

The incoming Hamas prime minister told the Palestinian parliament today that his government would not be forced into submission by international economic pressures.

“The great Palestinian people should not be punished for choosing their leadership in free and democratic elections,” the prime minister-designate, Ismail Haniyeh, told politicians. “Those who believe that economic pressures will force our government into submission are wrong.”
