British soldier killed in Basra blast

A British soldier was killed today in an explosion in southern Iraq – the 100th to die since the 2003 invasion – Britain’s Ministry of Defence said.

The MoD said the soldier from the 7th Armoured Brigade was killed after an explosion in Basra. It did not identify the soldier.
