Turkey offers to act as Mideast intermediary

Turkey today offered to act as an intermediary between Israel and the Palestinians following Hamas’ surprise sweeping victory in Palestinian legislative elections.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the Organisation of Islamic Conference, which groups Muslim nations, may also perhaps “take on an important role”.
