Seven arrested at Spanish ranch
Spanish police arrested seven people at a ranch that allegedly offered hunters the opportunity to shoot lions, tigers and other animals in exchange for hefty sums of money.
The arrests were made last weekend in the southwest Extremadura region, the daily newspapers El Pais and La Vanguardia reported.
Hunters paid as much as €24,000 to shoot an animal and keep the hide, La Vanguardia said.
The animals at the ranch were kept in cages and let out when customers paid to hunt them, it added.
