Belgian woman confirmed as Iraq suicide bomber
Authorities detained at least one suspect during dawn raids into houses of potential allies of a Belgian woman who blew herself up in a suicide bomb attack in Iraq early this month.
Police raided houses in Brussels and northern Antwerp, but had yet to make a formal arrest, said Lieve Pellens, spokeswoman for the federal prosecutor’s office.
She confirmed a Belgian woman of local origin had carried out the attack in Iraq against an American patrol in Iraq’s capital Baghdad on November 9.
