A bomb thrown at a minibus carrying two judges in southern Bangladesh exploded today, killing one judge and injuring the other and the vehicle’s driver, a news report said.

The victims were riding to the court office in Jhalakathi, 75 miles south of Dhaka, when the bomb was thrown at their vehicle, the United News of Bangladesh reported.

Sohel Ahmed, an assistant judge at the Jhalakathi court, died instantly, it said. Another judge, Jagannath Pandey, and the driver were hospitalised, it said.

No other details were given, and police could not immediately be reached for comment.
