Israel welcomes UN rebuke of Iran

Israel has welcomed the United Nation's condemnation of Iran's controversial remarks that the country should be "wiped off the map".

Preisident Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made the declaration and, despite early signs that Iran was attempting to defuse the storm of protest, subsequently stood by his remark.
