New York on alert after tube security threat

Security is being stepped up on New York’s tube network tonight after word of a “credible” threat to the city’s transit system.

Rep Peter King, chairman of the House of Representatives’ Homeland Security Committee, said: “Obviously, this is a significant threat.”
