Capt says boat was hit by waves from other craft

The captain of a boat that capsized on a lake in New York State, killing 20 people, told authorities it was hit by waves from another boat or boats, and his went over as he tried to steer out of them, authorities said today.

The postcard perfect day of sailing on placid Lake George suddenly turned horrific Sunday when the 40ft Ethan Allen flipped over so quickly that none of the 47 passengers could put on a life jacket. Seven people were taken to hospital.
