A US Navy submarine collided with a Turkish merchant ship in the Persian Gulf early today, the U.S. Navy reported. No one was hurt on either vessel.

The USS Philadelphia was travelling on the surface of the Gulf when it slammed into the Turkish-flagged M/V Yaso Aysen, a cargo ship, at about 2am local time, the US Navy 5th Fleet Headquarters in Bahrain reported in a statement.
