US citizen detained in China

China has detained a US Citizen on suspicion of spying for Taiwan.

According to the US Embassy in Beijing, the Chinese-born American has been held under house arrest for the past three months.

Tensions are high between Taiwan and China, which does not recognise the island state as an independent entity.
