Two houses raided in attempted bombings probe

Anti-terrorist police today raided two more houses in London in connection with last week’s attempted bomb attacks on the capital’s transport network.

Officers from Scotland Yard’s Anti-Terrorist Branch raided one house in Finchley and another in Enfield, both north London, at 6am.

No arrests have been made so far and a forensic search of both properties remains ongoing.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: “At 6am Anti-Terrorist Branch officers executed search warrants under the Terrorism Act at residential premises in Finchley and Enfield.

“No arrests have been made and forensic examination is ongoing. These are in connection with the incident on July 21.”

In the last few days police have raided several properties in connection with last Thursday’s attempted attacks on three Tube trains and a bus.

These have included properties in West Kilburn, Stockwell, Streatham Hill and New Southgate.

They have also seized a white VW Golf found abandoned in Finchley.
