New fighting erupts after Indian protestors attacked

An affluent New Delhi suburb turned into a battleground as women with truncheons and men with stones attacked police today, a day after violent clashes erupted between protesting Honda workers and police.

Live television footage showed furious women chasing police officers and pounding them with canes as hundreds swarmed in the streets near a government hospital in Gurgaon, a suburb where some 700 people were reported to have been injured in a police swoop yesterday against violent Honda protestors.
