G8 unites to condemn terror attacks
World leaders stood shoulder to shoulder in defiance of terrorism at the G8 summit in Scotland today.
Tony Blair was flanked by fellow members of the G8 group of leading industrialised nations as he issued a âjoint and unitedâ statement in response to the London attacks.
With US president George Bush at his right shoulder, he was also joined by leaders from five other nations who were attending the Gleneagles summit for talks on climate change.
Mr Blair said: âWe condemn utterly these barbaric attacks.
âWe send our profound condolences to the victims and their families.
âAll of our countries have suffered from the impact of terrorism.
âThose responsible have no respect for human life.
âWe are united in our resolve to confront and defeat this terrorism that is not an attack on one nation but on all nations and on civilised people everywhere.â
