InterPol arrest four wanted for murder in UK

A six-member Interpol team backed by Pakistani police arrested three brothers and another man – all British-born Pakistani citizens – wanted for three murders, a rape and other crimes in the UK, police said today.

Imran and Zeeshan Ahmed were arrested in a raid on a house in Lahore, the capital of Punjab province, today, said Tariq Salim, the Lahore police chief.

The third brother, Furqan Ahmed, was arrested Sunday with his associate Mohammed Mushtaq in Toba Tak Singh, about 120 miles south-west of Lahore, Salim said.

The suspects’ ages were not provided.

The men fled from Glasgow about six months ago and Interpol traced them to Pakistan, Salim said.

They are suspected of committing three murders, a rape, and several instances of financial and internet fraud in Glasgow and London over the past two years, he said.

The suspects have been moved to the Pakistani capital Islamabad and they will be handed over to Britain in a “day or two,” said another police official.
