The European Parliament today approved the entry of Bulgaria and Romania into the European Union in 2007, but said both countries still need to carry out necessary reforms.

The European Parliament today approved the entry of Bulgaria and Romania into the European Union in 2007, but said both countries still need to carry out necessary reforms.

MEPs voted 522-70 in favour of Bulgaria and 497-93 in favour of Romania in two separate votes in the Strasbourg parliament.
