Thieves escape with millions at Amsterdam airport

Thieves hijacked an armoured van from the KLM cargo ramp at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport today and escaped with millions of euro in diamonds and jewellery.

The thieves made off with the loot after threatening the van’s guards.

The armoured vehicle was recovered later in Hoofdorp, a town just outside the airport perimeter. KLM was baffled as to how thieves could have entered the secured area.
