No escape for motorists fined in Europe

Continental speeding tickets which motorists could once happily ignore will follow them home in future thanks to new rules agreed by EU governments today.

Any criminal or motoring penalties incurred in another EU country will be pursued for collection of the money when the law comes into force in 2007.
