Syria says it will pull troops from Lebanon

Syria will withdraw its troops from Lebanon in line with a 1989 Arab-brokered agreement, the Foreign Ministry said today.

“The important withdrawals have already been carried out and what will be carried out later will be in agreement with Lebanon based on the Taif Accord,” said a statement issued in Paris.
