Iran explosion may have been dam blast
An explosion near the coastal town of Deylam in Iran was caused during the construction of a dam, a top security official said.
“The explosion that occurred in Deylam region was the result of detonating a path for dam-building operations,” said Ali Agha Mohammadi, a spokesman of the Supreme National Security Council.
A spokesman for Iran’s Interior Ministry said the explosion was heard minutes after an Iranian aircraft flew over the city and had not been caused by a hostile attack.
