Ukranian President orders preparation for Iraq withdrawal

Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma ordered the foreign and defence ministers today to develop a plan for withdrawing troops from Iraq within six months.

Ukraine, whose 1,650 troops are the fourth-largest contingent in the US-led military operation in Iraq, has previously expressed intentions to withdraw this year, but the order speeds up the apparent timetable.
