Spanish authorities have made two new arrests in connection with the March 11 train bombings that killed 191 people in Madrid, it was reported today.

A Syrian and an Egyptian were arrested yesterday in Irun near Spain’s border with France, the Efe news agency said.

It didn’t provide any further information about the arrests or detainees.

A spokeswoman for the Interior Ministry said it would comment later today.
