British troops seize weapons convoy

British troops and Iraqi police impounded an insurgent convoy loaded with anti-tank mines, mortars and rockets headed for the volatile city of Al Amarah, military chiefs revealed today.

The flat bed truck and smaller pick-up, laden with explosives and munitions were stopped yesterday at a routine check-point by police.
