Four killed in Iraq bombings
Four people were killed in Iraq today after two bombs targeted a police station and a recruitment centre in separate attacks.
Two civilians were killed and three others were injured when a roadside bomb exploded in the centre of the northern Iraqi town of Kirkuk.
The blast took place near a job recruiting centre and a bus terminal during the morning rush hour, said General Anwar Mohammed Amin with the Iraqi National Guard.
Kirkuk is 180 miles north of Baghdad.
A car bomb had earlier detonated near a US military convoy in western Baghdad, killing two people.
The 9.45am (6.45am Irish time) blast occurred near the Yarmouk police station as a US armoured vehicle was driving by, said police Captain Ahmed Shihab.
Five other people were wounded, he said. There was no immediate confirmation of casualties by the US military.
