Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi’s office confirmed today the release of two of his female relatives kidnapped last week.

His cousin, Ghazi Allawi, aged 75, his cousin’s wife and his cousin’s pregnant daughter-in-law were abducted at gunpoint last Tuesday in western Baghdad. “The two women were released yesterday,” said an Allawi spokesman.
