Thieves stole two diamonds worth more than €11m from a display case at a Paris antique show near the Louvre today, police officials said.

The theft occurred in mid-afternoon at the 22nd “Antiquary’s Biennial” at the Carrousel du Louvre while a show worker had stepped out for a break.

An early police investigation found there was no alarm system or video surveillance cameras in place at the display window. There was no sign of a break-in, officials said.

The unidentified culprits escaped with a 47-carat white diamond and a 15.74 carat blue diamond valued.
