Loud explosion near Baghdad hospital

A loud explosion echoed across the Iraqi capital of Baghdad early today.

“A huge explosion took place near the Al-Jamia Hospital” in west Baghdad, said Interior Ministry spokesman Col. Adnan Abdul-Rahman.

He said he did not immediately know the cause of the blast.

There was no word on casualties.
