Thirty-five Pakistani prisoners held at the Guantanamo Bay detention centre in Cuba returned home today after being freed by the United States, a senior intelligence official said.

The 35 men were taken into “protective custody for interrogations” after arriving at a Pakistani air base near the capital Islamabad, said the official.
