Beheaded bodies found in Iraq

The bodies of three beheaded men, believed to be foreigners, were found in northern Iraq today at about the same time as kidnappers freed a Turkish hostage.

Aytulla Gezmen, a translator, appeared on a video sent to the AP and said: “Today the Mujahedeen released me and I will go to the embassy.” He was shown standing next to a masked man before getting into a car.

It was not immediately clear where the release took place.

The Iraqi National Guard found three unidentified beheaded bodies Wednesday on a road north of Baghdad, an Interior Ministry official said.

There were no documents on the bodies discovered on the road near Dijiel, about 25 miles from the capital, said Colonel Adnan Abdul-Rahman.

He said the bodies were all male and had old tattoos.
