Divine Brown arrested

The Hollywood prostitute caught nearly a decade ago in a liaison with actor Hugh Grant has been arrested for allegedly possessing stolen property.

Estella Marie Thompson, 35, also known as Divine Brown, was arrested last week and released from custody pending an investigation, police Sergeant Mark Gagan said in Richmond, California.

He would not provide any information about last Wednesday’s arrest, saying only that it involved an car dealership in the working-class town north-east of San Francisco. Gagan would not specify what property Thompson allegedly had in her possession.

In 1995, Thompson pleaded no contest to lewd conduct after her arrest with Grant.

Hollywood vice squad officers had arrested the pair as they sat in the actor’s BMW. Grant was followed by officers who saw him pull over to a Sunset Boulevard curb and pick up Thompson.

Grant also pleaded no contest to lewd conduct in a public place.

Grant, who recently starred in the films About a Boy and Love Actually, is 44 on Thursday. He co-stars in the film sequel Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, scheduled for November release in the United States.

He is currently dating Jemima Goldsmith, who was recently divorced from former Pakistan cricket captain Imran Khan.
