Al-Jazeera's Baghdad office stays closed

The Iraqi government said tonight it would extend the closure of the offices of the pan-Arab satellite station Al-Jazeera indefinitely.

Iraq’s Ministerial Committee for National Security in Iraq said in a statement it had decided “to extend the suspension of the channel’s activities from Iraq until the station comes forward with a written explanation specifying the motives behind its policy toward Iraq”.
