Hostage-takers demand releases

Gunfire and several explosions have been heard at a school in Russia where armed attackers have taken 200 schoolchildren hostage, the Interfax news agency reported.

Some reports indicate that up to 10 people have been killed in the stand-off. Russian forces have surrounded the school.
