Foreign minister pleads for journalist's release

Italy’s foreign minister appeared on the Al-Jazeera satellite television to appeal for the release of an Italian journalist held hostage in Iraq.

Foreign Minister Franco Frattini described freelance journalist Enzo Baldoni as a man of peace who was in Iraq “to tell the tale of the suffering of the Iraqi people”.
